After joining the Pedder’s Racing Team in Australia for the Bathurst 6 Hour, both teams benefited from being in each other’s company. Michele Abbate, team owner and driver for GRR Racing and Crew Chief Anthony Philleo took some excellent data, knowledge, and findings home with them after returning to the states.
Among varies differences between the two teams’ cars, several things were found that could translate to be beneficial if replicated. One of these items included the Beastronix unit, which is actually sold in the United States. The unit itself is called the 86 Nanny PD + ABS; and what that means is it’s a device that plugs into your existing OBDII port and makes turning the ABS/Traction Control assist off as easy as the flick of a switch… Something most 86 drivers know is not as easy as the factory makes it seem. “I’m so excited to have Beastronix in our back pocket as we head on track. I wish we would’ve have been more aware of how helpful the OEM ABS system can be when the correct electronic modules are disabled. I swear, the Beastronix unit is like magic! We are so thankful for their support and really excited to continue working with them to give them real road racing data to help further their innovations”, Abbate shares.
Beastronix plans to add some new products to the line up, so be sure to check out their website, instagram, and facebook for their upcoming announcements. Abbate will also be sharing product highlight videos of the unit and how it works. Catch the latest episodes on her YouTube Channel or Facebook page.
