With the 2015 race season fast approaching, Michele has had her plate full during the off season. With some adjustments and improvements to the car, and a full schedule, the team has decided to put their sights on expanding their exposure to the SCCA Majors Tour in addition to racing in the United States Touring Car Championships – with this decision comes several other exciting announcements.
To help fuel the additional costs of running another series, Michele has partnered with Dark Horse Pros (www.DarkHorsePros.com) to successfully launch her first crowdfunding campaign! Following in the footsteps of one of Michele’s favorite drivers, Shea Holbrook, Abbate is aiming to raise a stretch goal of $15,000 in 30 days in order to help support the additional costs of this new series. Abbate has set her goal to raise $10,000 in the 30 days, and with this all or nothing campaign she has received an amazing response from her friends and fans. Only 5 days in and the team has gained contributors on their side while raising over $5,000, halfway to her goal! “This has been one of the most amazing programs I have launched. I love that my sponsors have come onboard to support my efforts as well as offering my friends and fans their products at limited time prices! I truly think Dark Horse Pros has created a channel of its own that many drivers will be able to take advantage of, as long as they put in the work required”, Michele states as she pushes her campaign as far as she can.
The first race of the SCCA Major Tours is this weekend at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California and Michele and the team will be hitting the road this evening. Michele is excited to start this new road and said, “This is the first event of the year, and with the continued support of my friends and fans, we will be able to complete SCCA the season and have a chance at the National Run Offs!”.
