Imagine this, it’s the Thursday of your first week at your new job, and you receive a call in the morning from a friend offering you a seat in something you’ve never even driven before, and you’ll have to fly out 6am tomorrow.,..
That’s exactly what happened to Michele as she sat at her desk at Supercar System. Thankfully, she is fortunate enough to work for an employer that encourages her racing efforts and so it was no problem to have the last minute request of the Friday off during Abbate’s first initial work week.
With sponsorship from Sara Price Enterprises, Michele was chosen to race in the Terracross Championships in Price’s Hoonigan Polaris RZR at ERX Motorsports Park in Minnesota!

The race day consisted of two Women’s Pro racing events and Abbate opted in for the Final Shootout. Race 1 came to an early retire for Michele, after losing a rear axle. The crew was able to make the repairs in time for Race 2. Abbate completed race 2 and finished in 6th place behind sports legends like Jolene Van Vugt, Ami Houde, and last year’s Women’s Terracross Champion Jami Luburgh.
In the final shootout the field consisted of over 15 Polaris RZR’s to battle it out. “I honestly, just want to see the checkered flag. It seems like everyone is positioned to go all out on this one,” Abbate shared. With a few close calls Michele did in fact see the checkered flag and finished in 12th place overall.
“I want to give a sincere thank you to Sara for giving me this opportunity at trying my hand at Terracross racing. It has been completely awesome to venture into off-road a bit more and have one of these events under my belt. I look forward to paying the favor back to Price soon!”, Michele stated.
